The Grommet deployment system is similar to other hurricane shutter anchoring systems. It is typically comprised of quarter-inch anchors spaced at 6” or 12” on center. Anchors are installed on two opposing sides of the opening (top/bottom or left/right). The protective fabric panel has grommets spaced to match the anchors. The grommets are lined up with the anchor point and secured with a wing-nut or stainless steel sidewalk bolt.
This deployment method is simple, sturdy, and effective. The downside is the installer must have easy access to each grommet location.
